A meddling grandfather who believed in love. A perfect set-up for a HEA. Ms. Caldwell once again managed to take the standard historical romance and put a bit of a twist on it. Kind of simple christmas story, but good characters and I enjoyed it. Most the hurdle in the story is convincing the man that he should allow himself to be happy and marry his love, but it was a fun story.
Clean, sweet story with a wonderful HEA
Hope for marriage, but only for love. A force engagement to someone she didn't even like until a long
lost love returned from war a shell of a man supposedly dead, caused lots of misery and heartbreak
to them.As the book says a time of renewal and hope.It really was a season for love and hope.
I really enjoyed this story! This was a heart warming story of how Olivia makes Marcus realize he is still worthy of love even though he is scared from war. She never thought she would see him again and the Duke of Danby comes through for his offspring again!! Great follow up story to Winning a Lady's Heart!
Lady Olivia Foster is twenty-three years old and considers herself on the shelf. She has been waiting for Marcus Wheatley to return from the war against France,but he never came back. Her father has accepted the suit of a sixty year old Earl and Olivia is to be married. But the Duke of Danby summons her to his residence for Christmas. I loved this novella and I highly recommend it.
Everything in Lady Olivia Foster life isn't like what she expected five years ago when she fell in love with Marcus Wheatley. Marcus didn't return for her after the war and now she is forced by her father to marry another. Enter the Duke of Danby, Lady Olivia's grandfather, to make sure she has here HEA. Love the Duke of Danby. Loved this book, short and kept my interest. *See review for 'Winning a Lady's Heart" Will definitely get her next book released, and hope it has the Duke of Danby and his meddling ways!
Olivia has refused all offers of marriage for five years. Her love Marcus was killed in the war and she still grieved him. Her father is going to make her marry a sixty year old man because he has a title. Her grandfather sends for her at Christmas and gives her a little longer that she has to marry. She gets the shock of her life when she finds Marcus is working for her grandfather. He has been scarred badly on his face and only has one eye. Her grandfather is trying his best to get them together . Will Marcus realize that she really loves him scars and all or will she be forced to walk away? I read this story in a three book set and the review was supposed to be from that. I did not mean to write it on the single story .I guess it will not be counted as a verified purchase though I did pay for it.
